About

Growing up in Maine, I had many hobbies: rock collecting, model building, woodworking and drawing. My dad helped me in these hobbies by teaching me to use my hands. My dad taught me to take pride in my work and to be creative.

My renewed interest in woodworking took a step forward after I read an article about Intarsia. I liked the idea of using only the natural colors and grains of different woods in my projects. I continue that practice today. There are no stains, paints or dyes in any of my Intarsia Keepsake Boxes, Pet Urns or Intarsia Art.

In 2001, I moved into my new shop in Midlothian, VA and have since expanded my product line to include finished Intarsia pieces, custom keepsake boxes, turned wooden pens, custom pet urns, marble-top tables, and other fine custom woodworks.

I can create a custom Intarsia Keepsake Box, Pet Urn or Framed Intarsia Wall Hanging from any photo or picture.

I will be adding different pages to my blog that demonstrate the type of things that I like to do so check them out.

Check out –Mike’s One Man Shop to see the sequence of events on building my shop.

If you have done intarsia or would like to see how it is done then follow me as I do a work in progress by going to my Buffalo box page.
My shop made jigs page will show you some of the things that I have made to help me in my woodworking adventures. If there is something that you would like to know about intarsia or any other type of woodworking , leave a comment or a question and I will be happy to get back with you.
Thanks for your visit and happy woodworking.
Mike
